Mission Statement
Vine Maple Place is a Christian organization that provides transitional housing and support services to homeless single mothers and their children using biblically based programs that lead to lives of stability, hope, and greater self-sufficiency.
Our goal is to help residents successfully transition into permanent housing. We do this by providing job training, instruction in life skills, and spiritual discipleship. We also provide church and community members with opportunities to invest their time, talents, and financial resources to help others in need.
Vine Maple Place is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, funded by donations from individuals, churches, businesses, and foundations. Our tax ID: #91-2082308.
News:
“Divine details” encourage the families and staff
As we minister daily to help homeless families overcome the trauma they’ve been through, we are encouraged when we learn about the divine surprises they encounter.
Last year we held our grand opening at Vine Maple Gardens, the transitional apartment homes on Witte Road that many in the community helped renovate. After the construction dust had been vacuumed up, our Decorating Divas team swooped in and coordinated donated furniture and accessories to beautifully prepare each of the units for the families. We posted pictures on our web site and then got busy with the normal tasks involved in taking care of families.
Last September Raine* and her sons were accepted into our program and went with the case manager to see their new apartment at Vine Maple Gardens. They walked through the front door and oohed and aahed over the beautiful living room.
Raine & her boys prepare to celebrate Christmas in their new home.
When they stepped into the mom’s bedroom, Raine looked around and then lay down on the bed, her eyes filling with tears. “Thank you, Jesus!” she whispered. “This is the bedroom I saw on the web site.”
That incident spoke volumes to the family about God’s care and direction in their lives. As they face the demanding tasks of increasing their stability and self-sufficiency, they know that not even the smallest detail escapes God’s attention.
Thank you for your prayers and support as we prepare to minister to homeless families during another holiday season and into the New Year. You are truly our partners in this vital work, and we appreciate every one of you.
