Purpose and Vision
Purpose:
The purpose for Prime Timers is to provide senior citizens (60 years and older) with opportunities for fellowship and ministry. Fellowship provides opportunities for social nurturing, loving and caring for others. Ministry provides opportunities for works of service as the Lord impresses each person to do.
Vision:
The Vision for the Prime Timers is to encourage all senior citizens to find a ministry of helps and service to others as the Lord leads and to provide support opportunities. To encourage all senior citizens to use their mature talents and wisdom for the Lord’s purpose in building His Kingdom.
Ministry
Visitation:
The Visitation Ministry includes visiting people who are in hospitals, in nursing homes or are homebound. The purpose is to demonstrate the Lord’s love through prayer, fellowship, and compassionate service to help meet their needs. This ministry demonstrates Christ’s valuing, loving and caring for others.
Hospitality:
The Hospitality Ministry provides opportunities where Prime Timers can serve in providing meals, helping with events, providing sleeping accommodations if needed, or accommodating visitors or new comer’s needs.
Helps:
The Helps Ministry is works of service such as helping in the kitchen for special events, fixing things for those in need, learning of needs and finding people to meet them. Many people need help at times in may different areas, and as Lord provides guidance this ministry of helps supports resolving these needs.
Education:
The Education Ministry is the ministry area where information useful for senior citizen’s welfare is provided to meet the needs of our fellowship and community. For example, communicating information about fraud alerts and scams, social security information and contacts, and classes about computers. Not all senior citizens are well informed; this ministry helps reduce harm caused by the lack of information and helps one grow in needed knowledge.
