Position: Senior Pastor/Elder

I grew up in Maple Valley, Washington and started attending Generational Hope Christian Center as a boy. My wife, Marcy, was raised in Libby, Montana. Marcy and I met at Seattle Bible College. We married in 1988 and have five wonderful children; Justin (21), Jordan (18), Jessica (16), Jasmine (14) and Jannesa (12), and now are blessed with a beautiful daughter-in-law, Brittany, and our first grandchild on the way.
Together we served as Youth Pastors, Young Adult Pastors, and Associate Pastors at Generational Hope Christian Center until God called us and our family to Uganda, Africa. While in Africa, we served alongside Ron DeVore for over four years and planted churches, established primary schools, and started a thriving Bible college in Kampala, Uganda. We also helped develop an orphanage sponsorship program in Uganda and medical ministries in South Sudan.
In 2003, God called us back to Maple Valley, to serve as Senior Pastor of GHCC. More than anything, I love my family and the community where God has placed me. I am passionate about the vision of the house, “To stand and fight for the next generation”. It is a cause worth fighting for, a Faith, a Hope and a Truth worth passing on to the next generation.
A few of my favorite things:
- To do: Work hard and play hard.
- Food: Pizza and Ribeye steak (from Jak’s Restaurant in Issaquah)
- Books: The Bible, The Barbarian Way by Erwin McManus, Anointed to Reign by Dr. Ronald Cottle, God Chasers by Tommy Tenney
- Movie: Courageous
- Music: Worship Music
- Heroes: Jesus and Missionaries who gave up everything to serve the lost and share the Gospel with people who had never heard it before.
- Quotes:
“Attempt great thing for God, expect great thing from God.” ~William Carey
“Nevertheless, not my will, but your will be done.” ~Luke 22:42
“To expect God to do everything and you do nothing is not faith, it is superstition.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
