2010 Owen’s Mission Plans
- April 2009 we went Belize to help a church that needed a pastor, so we got to go encourage the people. It is amazing how hungry they are. One man who used to be an alcoholic invited Jesus in his life. He was so radically changed and is so happy that he led all his children and many neighbors to the Lord. They want to build a church building as they are rapidly growing. They presently meet under his “carport”.
- In August and first part of September we went to Fiji, where we got to see the fruit of years of our labor. We were so rewarded to see them healthy and growing in the Lord. When we were there the Lord spoke to help plant new churches in the outer islands. New relationships are being established in Samoa and Vanuatu. Please pray for the plan of the Lord for our housing.
- Upon returning from Fiji, Dee’s boss let him go. (The company didn’t have contracts for this winter.) As we prayed what to do, the Lord spoke, “Belize,” and a person working for an airline gave us reduced passes, so we returned to Belize in November. Every day of the trip we experienced such a leading of the Lord. In addition to the two churches we went down to work with, we met with the Taiwanese church. The Lord gave us the scripture: they shall reap if they faint not. We realized they needed to be encouraged. One pastor said to us, “We have ministered to others all these years, but we didn’t know who to call when we needed help. Thank you for obeying the Lord in helping us.” (We loved, hugged and encouraged through a lot of tears there.)
- Since home, Dee is hauling wood for winter storm preparations at the house, helping the church and helping people needing odd jobs. It’s time to take all that God has been pouring into him and see what takes shape when the master potter reveals.
- Sandy has three books, and one coloring book – working on more. We are being offered to print my books in Fiji for less and are working on a plan. (Their paper size, weight are all metrically different etc.) When home, she heads up a prayer group at our church, and one with women, and is with the Aglow international board.
- As for travel, we are preparing to go to Philippines in March…then to Fiji in April, with our middle daughter Gabbie – she’s been stirred to return to Fiji for the last year.
- This year is already coming together in a quick way, we are being asked to help plant a new church in Taiwan in August [we’ll respond only if we know the Lord is leading for that!]
There are new churches in this state we’re being asked to help get planted with some friends we work with. We are seeking the Lord if He’d have us say yes.
Thank you for every prayer and for believing in the work the Lord has set before us.
With Love and gratitude – God Bless,
Dee and Sandy Owens
